โThings untested or not working: - WiFi card swap (required for WiFi), untested. - HDMI output wasnโt working. May require manual work. - MicroSD card slot not tested (RealTek RTS5129 if youโre interested in messing around and/or trying) - Touchpad is recognized as a mouse (System Preferences does not see a touchpad). Appears to be I2C so likely requires manual work. - GPU Power Management (checked via AppleIntelInfo.kext) does not appear to be working (only min/max states). - CPU Power Management does seem to work (many states), but min frequency seen was 1.3Ghz (600-800Mhz can be found in Linux/Windows).โmattgadient.com
- Can the RAM in this laptop be upgraded?
- The RAM can be upgraded. Researched by us, 6 September 2026.
โThe notebooks allow up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 memory using dual-channel setup of two 16GB DDR4-2400 sticks but our unit came with just a single Kingston 8GB DDR-2400 RAM chip.โlaptopmedia.com
- Is the screen on this laptop good?
- Reviewers rate this screen poorly. Researched by us, 6 September 2026.
โUnfortunately, we donโt have anything good to say about the display. Even in this price range, there are plenty of other options with better IPS panels. The Inspiron 5570 in its current configuration offers a screen with exceptionally low maximum brightness, extremely low contrast, poor viewing angles, narrow sRGB coverage, unacceptable calibration out of the box and uses PWM at certain levels of brightness, although the latter will probably affect only users with sensitive eyes.โlaptopmedia.com
